I’m currently on the search for a workplace for my practical internship semester – and I can tell you, this grown-up world really scares me! I somehow managed to land a job interview and I’m really excited. My thought stream went like this: “Yay!…. Oh no, what am I going to wear???”. For those of you who are in a similar situation, I created three outfit ideas. [Keep in mind that I'm in IT and the company I want to work at doesn't have a strict dress code. I guess that if you'd like to work in a bank, there's no getting around suits...]
All of these ideas are plus-size friendly!
Langsam aber sicher neigt sich mein Studium dem Ende entgegen und ich schaue mich gerade nach einer Stelle für mein Praxissemester um – ganz schön umheimlich, diese ganze Erwachsenenwelt. Ich bin schon soweit, dass ich bald ein Bewerbungsgespräch haben werde – spannend! Meine Gedanken waren ungefähr diese: “Juhuu!… Oh nein, was zieh ich denn nur an?”. Für alle die sich in einer ähnlichen Situation befinden, habe ich drei Outfit-Ideen zusammengestellt. [Dazu muss ich noch sagen, dass ich in die IT-Branche will und zumindest die Firma bei der ich mich bewerbe keinen so strengen Dresscode hat. Ich bin mir natürlich darüber im klaren, dass man zum Beispiel in einer Bank nicht um Anzug und Kostüm rumkommt...]

This first look is close to what I’ll probably wear – I’m still searching for a blazer. I think the blush colour of the blouse and the light coral of the blazer [that I found thanks to Katrin ♥] will look fantastic together. I’d tuck the blouse into the skirt. By the way, I actually own this skirt and love it so much – it’s chic and comfortable, exactly what I’m going for. Wedges are a great option if you’re not really used to wearing heels like me.
Die erste Kombination werde ich wahrscheinlich so ähnlich tragen – Ich bin nur immer noch auf der Suche nach einem Blazer. Die zarten Farben der Schluppenbluse und des Blazers [den ich dank Katrin entdeckt habe ♥] passen so gut zusammen. Ich würde das Oberteil in den Rock stecken. Den Rock besitze ich übrigens selbst und kann ihn wirklich nur empfehlen – er ist schick und bequem, also genau das was ich will. Schuhe mit Keilabsatz sind eine gute Alternative, wenn man wie ich keine allzu hohen Absätze gewohnt ist.

I personally am not much of a pants person, but I think they can look really smart and elegant. Here I paired marine blue pants with a loose, flowy top that I would belt in the waist, a short blazer in a fun colour [I think that red clothing gives you an instant confidence boost] and some cute, not too high heels.
Ich selbst bin zwar nicht so die Hosenträgerin, aber ich finde dass Hosen sehr smart und elegant aussehen können. Hier habe ich ein marineblaues Exemplar mit einem weich fließenden Top, über dem ich einen Taillengürtel tragen würde, kombiniert. Dazu würde ich einen kurzen Blazer in einer auffälligen Farbe [rote Kleidung macht einen direkt selbstbewusster, finde ich] und süße Schuhe, deren Absatz nicht allzu hoch ist, tragen.

I love the idea of wearing a dress to a job interview. Of course, it shouldn’t be too short or too low-cut. A dress like this with a simple, yet elegant cut would be perfect – and I just LOVE this colour. I’d dress it down with a classic cardigan that has a lovely retro feel. For this look, I’d definitely wear high-heeled pumps, even though I’d probably trip at least twenty times on my way to the office.
Ich finde die Idee toll, zu einem Vorstellungsgespräch ein Kleid zu tragen. Natürlich sollte dieses keinen Mini-mini-rock oder extrem tiefen Ausschnitt haben. Ein Kleid wie dieses mit einem einfachen, eleganten Schnitt wäre aber perfekt – und diese Farbe ist doch traumhaft! Ich würde dazu einen klassischen Cardigan kombinieren, um den Retro-Eindruck noch zu steigern. Und dazu würde selbst ich Pumps mit hohen Absätzen tragen, auch wenn ich wahrscheinlich allein auf dem Weg zum Büro 20mal stolpern würde.
